Main task, MOODBOARD. ( 20/12/16 )

I have created a moodboard, which includes the types of things indie pop is represented by.

This included the different colours, which will be light pinks/ purples and turquoise.

I have also included different photography of indie pop artists, I found that in the majority of these photos, the artists are not looking at the camera, this may be theme I may need carry out throughout my magazine.

I have shown the types of font I may include in my magazine too, this will help me create a house style of my magazine. Along with the different types of photography that represents this idea of indie pop, this could be quite calming photos, because many people in the questionnaire described indie pop as calm and melodic.

On the left hand side, I have included some album covers, this is because for my magazine I am going to create a sleeve for a record so i can incorporate this into my magazine, hence why I included an image of vinyls.

This moodboard will be something I can refer to throughout producing my magazine; it will help me create a magazine that will be suitable for my target audience.

I have also attached the Top 10 Indie pop singles of December, and the Top 10 Indie rock singles of December, I refer to these in my explanation.

Main task, questionnaire and results ( 20/12/16 )

I carried out further research, by giving a questionnaire ( see attached ) to 13, 16-17 year olds. The results ( see attached ), will help me create my magazine on the basis that it will suit my target audience and fulfill their wants and needs. I found the most common colours associated with indie pop, how much i should price my magazine at, how people feel about indie pop and  such more. Refer to the attached items to see the questions and the results of my questionnaire.

Main task, example interview questions ( 20/12/16 )

I carried out some research about most common questions asked to a music artist in an interview. I looked into MOJO and Q, I found that the most common questions asked about how they came to being a musician, an upcoming new song or album, or even a new book. This will help me know how to structure my interview in my magazine and what questions to include.

This is part of my preproduction powerpoint so, I have attached the link to the PDF of the whole pre-production powerpoint below ( again, I will attach this link at the end of each post about my preproduction ):

Preliminary task, feedback ( 20/11/16 )

These are the two examples of feedback i have gained from my fellow students.

Preliminary Task - My magazine contents page ( 17/11/16 )

I have attached the image of my contents page for my school magazine, which I will analyse:

Like I said after annotating existing contents pages ( see Preliminary task - existing contents pages analysis ( 2/11/16 ) ),  I have included a title, a small introduction, a small section of information about producers etc. I have only included two photos, but have added the logo of the college/school. I have also added the social media/ website at the bottom of the page to allow readers to access addition information and an online version of the magazine. Like all magazines I have included a list of what is in the magazine and the pages they are on; I have included, in my magazine feature articles like 'Studying with Stacey Duggen' an article page, of which I found from the questionnaire would be quite popular, I have also added a message from the head of sixth form, this is because I found examples from different magazines of a message from the principle or head of the college on the page after the contents page; almost like an additional introduction to the magazine, also I have included a few pages about personal experiences - interviews with past students, and Q&A with university professors. In addition, I have included a lot about where a levels will take you, what univeristy is best for you, how to survive in the working world ( I.e. CVs and interviews ), all linking with this editions theme of future. Lastly, I have carried on the colour scheme of purple and white, to allow the magazine to flow and continue on this theme of the future.
